Isole e Olena Chianti Classico DOCG 2019 Review
In the 1950s two estates came together to form Isole e Olena. Today it is run by a winemaker from Piedmont who grew up surrounded by wine and the wine industry. Paolo’s approach to this Chianti is a delicate modern wine wrapped up in an ancient jacket. The wine is made up of Sangiovese and another native Chianti grape, Canaiolo, but it also has a touch of Syrah. The result is an inviting earthy and dense red wine that is heady and soft with some good use of oak. Drinking this wine is like being invited into the coziest of rooms.
