Isa Wines ‘Claire Annelise’ Sauvignon Blanc 2022 Review
Isabella Morano is an admitted Sauvignon Blanc enthusiast, so when she started Isa Wines in 2021, she decided to focus on unique expressions of the grape in California. This bottle is from the organically farmed Mee Vineyard, which sits at about 712 feet of elevation in Mendocino County. The wine is fermented in stainless steel then transferred to neutral barrels to undergo malolactic fermentation. There's a great contrast in the wine between freshness and fullness, with bright citrus notes complemented by hints of biscuits and caramelized apples. Definitely an interesting expression of the grape to seek out.
