II Colombaio di Cencio Monticello Chianti Classico DOCG 2020 Review
German entrepreneur Werner Ernest Wilhelm fell in love with the Chianti region and bought an old country house and transformed it into a wine cellar. His winery was made famous by the Il Futuro Supertuscan but is well known for its Chianti. This is on the fuller side of the style from these hills but its taste is very welcoming. The wine has a waft of boozy fruit with notes of cranberry and cherry. It's all balanced by impeccable fruit and acidity breaking up the wine and allowing the heat from the alcohol to be part of the complexity. A great food wine.
