Golan Heights Winery ‘Yarden’ Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 Review
As might be expected from a wine hailing from a hot, Middle Eastern climate, this is a massive, concentrated, fruit-laden red. The nose has dense and almost syrupy blackberry and blackcurrant fruit, with an undertone of green, stemmy notes, all of which carries through to the palate. There are hints of non-fruit flavors here and there - charred meat, anise, stewed violet - but it’s all dominated by the rich black and blue fruit. Lovers of big, rich reds will be pleased, but it doesn’t exactly taste like Cabernet Sauvignon.
