Glenglassaugh 15 Year Old
Review
This coastal-distilled whisky uses PX sherry casks for its 15 year release. The result is a very red wine-like Scotch with notes of figs, raisins, and blackcurrant. There’s a resinous, pine tree-like quality to the palate and perhaps that’s why the baking spice notes can't help but make one start thinking about the holidays. Whatever the case, this is a worthy introduction to this still somewhat off-the-radar Highlands distillery.
