Glenfiddich 15 Year Old Unique Solera Reserve Review
This single malt is both inspired and directly influenced by sherry. After maturing in sherry casks and virgin oak, the whisky aged in a solera vat, which hasn’t been emptied in over two decades, according to Glenfiddich. Surprisingly, the influence of fortified Spanish wine doesn’t hit quite as much as you’d expect. But the use of the solera vat offers distinctive aged character in the form of toasted nuts, dried stone fruit, and leather notes.
