Freemark Abbey Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2019
Review
Freemark Abbey has been in business for over 100 years in Napa Valley. Their wine was selected for the line up in the 1976 Judgement of Paris. They have such a deep library of wine that it is like Napa wine history in a cellar. This is one of their vineyard blends and it’s a sleeping giant. The nose is all deep berry fruit and black pepper, it’s almost jammy. But on the palate, the fruit is deep, fully formed, and has a slight saltiness that is thirst-quenching (meaning great acidity). Framing the fruit is a significant tannin structure that will eventually soften. It’s drinking well now but will only improve over the years.
