Foursquare Rum Distillery Exceptional Cask Series "Equipose" Review
Made using both column and pot still distillation, this twice-aged rum enjoyed a primary 10-year resting period in ex-bourbon casks before an additional 4 years in Cognac casks. That secondary cask influence is prominent, imparting aromas of damp moss, cigar box, and potpourri that slowly shift to more fruity notes of dried apricots and orange rind. Although this expression clocks in at 60 percent ABV, the palate lands surprisingly soft, characterized by delightful hints of honey and toffee.
