Fort Ross "FRV" Pinot Noir 2014 Review
The Pacific influence is clear as day here, with bright blackberry and cherry aromas swirling around hints of peppermint woven into vanilla on the nose. The palate sings with these characteristics carried over to play more earth-driven notes such as mushrooms and ripe tobacco leaf. There is also a nice rhubarb, bordering on grapefruit, vibe that brightens the wine even more while still maintaining depth and firm balanced tannins. This is a great American Pinot to splurge on, knowing you are in for a treat.
