Familia Zuccardi 'Concreto' Malbec 2020 Review
The Zuccardi family are one of the most forward-thinking producers in the Uco Valley. Sebastian Zuccardi has spent over a decade studying his native land and working to hone in on the sense of place that is the high desert. The winery, with the Andes in the background, was built from the soil it sits on. So has the concrete eggs this wine is aged in. Welcome to the earthiest side of Malbec. The nose is unctuous and filled with earthy tones alongside ripe blue and blackberry fruit. The mouthfeel is that of a light coating of the entire palate with chewy fruit that framed by subtle tannins. If there was a wine for the grill, this is it.
