Early Mountain Chardonnay 2017 Review

Early Mountain is one of the leading winemakers in Virginia, bringing the wine back to the soil. Their strategy and focus on viticulture (vineyard work) and viniculture (winery work), choosing the right varieties for the right sites to get the most out whatever they plant, is the future of this region. Here is a great example, opening with classic apple and pear with some dry white peach and sweet jasmine vibes following close behind. The palate is broad and clean, like wet flint rock with a side show of citrusy acacia, and sweet wood inlaid with some spearmint. It is balanced and ready for a sunset or a dinner table.
