David Bruce Appellation Series Russian River Valley Pinot Noir 2016 Review

In wine, alcohol was once sugar, so the higher the alcohol in a wine, the more perception of sweet you are going to get, especially when oak is involved. Make that hot-sweet, as the heat from the ethanol dominates this wine in every way. The nose is filled with vanilla sugar and cherry cola, with a lean acidity wafting up some twiggy notes of pepper disguised as underbrush. If you like your Pinot Noir a bit boozy, this one is for you.
