Clos du Val Estate Merlot 2016 Review
I can’t believe this wine is 100% Merlot. The alcohol is too high (maybe there's some Syrah in there). There are some notes of blueberry coulis, and it’s definitely earthy, with some hints of soil, but it’s all under a layer of boozy hot hot heat. It’s a good gift wine for a host if you're not sure what said host’s taste in wine is and you know they will google the bottle to see how much you spent on it, or for winning over a boss who digs the old school Cali red style.
