What started as an offer to buy a ranch on a photography trip has turned into one of the most celebrated California wine brands. The Cakebreads have expanded at a steady pace over the years, introducing new grapes and vineyards to their production, but have always put the wine first. This wine shows that. The success of this wine is apparent immediately on the nose with deep soulful fruit and just the right amount of heat from the alcohol. The palate carries that depth of fruit and frames it with soft but present tannins that will age away, but still add to the complexity of the wine now.
