Bergström Wines 'Sigrid' Chardonnay 2021 Review

Bergström Wines is a family affair. John and Karen Bergström founded the winery in the Willamette Valley to create a legacy for their family, and to get in touch with John's Swedish agricultural upbringing. Their son Josh joined the winery in 1999 after completing a postgraduate program in viticulture and enology in Burgundy, and he is now the team's general manager and winemaker. Speaking of family, this Chardonnay is a nod to John’s grandmother. It's a bold Chardonnay that doesn't shy away from big oak flavors, but the notes of vanilla and baking spices are extremely well-integrated. It has a toasty nose and the palate offers great balance between soft fruit, minerals, and a creamy texture.
