Au Bon Climat Santa Barbara County Pinot Noir 2022 Review
Au Bon Climat founder Jim Clendenen’s legacy towers over the Santa Barbara wine region. He was one of the winemaking pioneers of the area, focusing on site-specific Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. As the decades passed and trends came and went he stayed true to his mission and today his stamp on wine history is undeniable. The wine world lost Jim in 2021 but his legacy lives on in his wines. This is one of the best affordable domestic Pinot Noirs on the market hands down. It has bright juicy cherries on the nose with a pop of cinnamon and some hints of mushroom. The palate is blousy and vibrant while still showing some nice fleshy depth.
