Anko Malbec 2020 Review

With three hundred days of sunlight and some of the highest elevation vineyards in the world (upwards of 10 thousand feet above sea level), Salta is one of the most important wine regions in Argentina, located almost eight hundred miles north of Mendoza. It is a region of extremes, and to make wine here is to crave a challenge. The winemakers at Anko said: challenge accepted. This Malbec from their Los Cardones estate shows these extremes in a balanced and juicy wine with some savory aromas of dry wood (cedar?) and earthy soil vibes. The palate is alive with good natural acidity making for a vibrant yet concentrated mouthfeel.
