The Story Behind The Cointreau Kiss

Through her television shows, magazine, and myriad hosting performances, we’ve come to know Martha Stewart as the maven on all things lifestyle and aesthetics. So it comes as no surprise that her new favorite cocktail, named the “Cointreau Kiss,” is a breeze to make and a tasty summer sip.

On hand for aperitivo hour, nightcaps, and everything in between, the cocktail includes two parts Cointreau, one part blanco tequila, two slices of muddled orange, and a splash of sparkling mineral water. For added flavor and visual appeal, she suggests rimming the glass with raw sugar. It’s easy, elegant, and everything you’d expect a Martha Stewart cocktail to be.

  • 2 ounces Cointreau
  • 1 ounce blanco tequila
  • 2 orange slices
  • Sparkling mineral water, to top
  • Optional: sugar rim

  1. Muddle orange slices in a rocks glass.
  2. Add ice, Cointreau, and tequila.
  3. Top the drink with sparkling mineral water and serve.
