The Story Behind The Honey and Pear Whiskey Cocktail

We’re coming off Thanksgiving, and all the culinary and oenological heaviness of that splendid holiday. I wanted to drink something light and crisp but still comforting and satisfying – it is December, after all. This Honey and Pear Whiskey Cocktail is like a Hot Toddy, but for when you want something cold and bright. I took the traditional Hot Toddy recipe and added some pear juice, and served it on ice. This honey and pear whiskey cocktail is perfect for holiday entertaining because it can easily be made into a punch to serve a party of guests.

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces whiskey
  • ½ ounce lemon juice
  • ¼ ounce of honey syrup
  • 1 ounce of pear juice
  • 1 cup of ice
  • sliced pear plus diced pear (garnish)

Directions

  1. Add all ingredients into a cocktail shaker
  2. Shake mixture then pour into serving glass over fresh ice
  3. Garnish with a sliced pear and diced pear
