The hard seltzer category is about to get even harder thanks, in part, to a new offering from Truly. Clocking in at 8-percent ABV, the “Truly Extra Hard Seltzer” is currently being trialed by the popular hard seltzer brand.

As Refinery29 recently reported, Truly’s parent company Boston Beer is testing the higher ABV beverage in New York, with two flavors available: Peach Mango and Black Raspberry. The brand’s 13 other seltzers, as well as the recently launched line of Truly Hard Seltzer Lemonades, boast a standard 5-percent ABV.

For those outside of New York wishing to get their hands on a boozier seltzer, Truly is not the only brand to introduce a higher-ABV offering to the market. In August 2019, Pabst Blue Ribbon launched its Stronger Seltzer, which also arrives at 8-percent ABV. A few months later, in November 2019, Four Loko debuted an even-boozier 12-percent ABV seltzer, which it dubbed the “hardest hard seltzer in the universe.”
