‘Tis the season for rosé. The days are getting longer and warm weather is slowly settling in — so what could be better than a refreshing bottle of rosé to toast to that? If that’s not convincing enough, there’s a brand new release from world-famous rapper Post Malone to try.
In an Instagram post on Tuesday morning, Malone offered a sneak peek at his long-awaited Maison No. 9, French Riviera Rosé. While the rapper might be most famous for his Grammy nominations and hits like “Rockstar” and “Sunflower,” the rosé marks a new opportunity to add to his infamy.
According to an email press release, Malone took an active role in tasting the wine (over 50 blends on site at the vineyard), the bottle design (which includes a reusable glass cork), and the name itself, Maison No. 9. The name was inspired by the singer’s favorite tarot card, the Nine of Swords, and is meant to represent overcoming the daily challenges we all face.
The wine was first announced last fall and involves several collaborators, including music manager Dre London, Irish-born entrepreneur James Morrissey, and E. & J. Gallo, which will handle distribution and sales. Meanwhile, Provence-based Alexis Cornu handled the winemaking.
A blend of Grenache Noir, Cinsault, Syrah, and Merlot, Maison No. 9 isn’t available in stores yet, but can be pre-ordered on the brand’s website now. Bottles will eventually be shipped out in June.
“Maison No. 9 goes down smooth, and you’re all going to love it!” Malone said in the press release.
