Popsicles are a sign of summer, a throwback to youth and an absolute necessity at any outdoor BBQ. But it’s time popsicles were given the grown-up treatment, because why shouldn’t we be able to consume a cocktail and a popsicle at the same time? After all, isn’t this the 21st century?
Thanks to entrepreneurs Laura Faeh and Cécilia Thomas and their creation Poptails, now we can. Their company, Lapp, features four alcoholic cocktail ice lollipops. The flavors are Gin Fizz made with gin, kiwi, apple and cucumber; Bellini, made with Prosecco and white peaches; Mojito Fraise, made with rum, strawberries and mint; and Spritz, made with Aperol, melon and orange.
They also have a non-alcoholic Poptail called Berry, which is made using watermelon and, of course, a variety of berries such as strawberries and raspberries – but there’s really no need to go into all the specifics of the non-alcoholic version for obvious reasons.
According to their website Poptail’s are only made with premium alcohol, fresh fruits and natural ingredients. Each Poptails is currently available in 80ml sticks while a larger option of 110 ml tubes is waiting to be launched later this summer. The stick is pretty obvious, but if the tube needs any clarification, it’s essentially a large, boozy push pop, and who doesn’t love push pops? Each alcoholic Poptail has an ABV of anywhere between 3-8% a perfect amount for taking the edge off and getting a light tipsy buzz going.
If this news has you craving a Poptail, as it probably should in the summer heat, you can purchase them at Netil 360 and Trufflesecco. Hopefully with a peak of interest in Poptails, the product will be slightly more accessible by the time next summer rolls around.
