Mexico Dominates U.S. Beer Imports Because Apparently We Can’t Get Enough Corona

According to recent data from the Beer Institute, Mexican beer accounted for more than two thirds of U.S. beer imports in 2017. The top beer brands we apparently can’t get enough are Constellation Brands’ Corona Extra and Modelo Especial, and Heineken-owned Cuauhtemoc Moctezuma’s Dos Equis and Tecate.

Mexican imports make up 68 percent of imported beer in America, far outperforming other regions, including Germany and Belgium (both of which land in the single digits, reports Bloomberg).

Second place goes to the Netherlands, whose beer makes up a mere 14 percent of beer imports in the U.S.
