December is officially here and with it the start of the holiday season. Cue the holiday music, abundant decorations and, above all, endless holiday parties. If you’re hosting, keeping it simple with beer and wine is of course always an option. But at the end of the day, doesn’t everyone love a fancy cocktail, especially during this time of year? The idea of serving up handmade cocktails to each of your guests is not only incredibly daunting; it’s probably impossible, too. But what if we told you there was a simple cocktail you could make in bulk and serve up fancy? Better yet, what if we told you it only had three ingredients?
This weekend, we’re making Negroni Sbagliato, punch-style. Though the name is Italian for “incorrect Negroni,” we couldn’t agree less — this drink is all things right in our books. With equal parts Campari, sweet vermouth, and Prosecco, this bubbly, herbal concoction feels merry and bright. It’s festive for December, but by substituting the gin in a classic Negroni for Prosecco, it’s less alcoholic, sweeter, and lighter — in other words, perfect for a party.
Slice up some fresh fruit for a fun, festive touch.
What You’ll Need:
1 bottle Campari
1 bottle sweet vermouth
1 bottle Prosecco
2 fresh oranges, apples, and strawberries (optional)
Directions:
Mix Campari, sweet vermouth, and Prosecco into punch bowl. Slice oranges and apples into wedges. Slice strawberries in half. Add fruit to bowl and stir. Garnish each glass with a green apple slice and red strawberry half for a festive Christmas look!
