When Mother’s Day comes around, you want to celebrate it right. That means celebrating with a good brunch. Picking the right spot doesn’t have to be stressful, though, thanks to data from OpenTable.
The reservations company collected more than 10 million reviews for more than 24,000 restaurants and made a list of the top 100. We grabbed the listings for the 13 largest cities in the U.S. for you. Not all of the cities were listed, and when that was the case, we went into OpenTable and found the top rated brunch spot in the city.
New York, New York — The Rainbow Room
If you want to really show mom some love in New York City, take her to the Rainbow Room on the 65th floor of Rockefeller Center. Also don’t forget the attached BarSixtyFive for some specialty Mother’s Day cocktails.
Los Angeles, California — Post & Beam
Take a seat in Post & Beam’s garden with a California fresh market-inspired menu.
Chicago, Illinois — Siena Tavern
While a Chicago joint didn’t make OpenTable’s top 100 list, there are still plenty of delicious brunch locations in the third largest city. Siena Tavern fills all of your modern Italian-inspired Mother’s Day brunch needs.
Houston, Texas — Cafe Benedicte
Enjoy Mediterranean bites and wine flights your mom is sure to love.
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania — Aksum
The go-to spot for brunch and tapas in Philadelphia. There’s also hookah, if that’s your vibe.
Phoenix, Arizona — Ocotillo
Another city that didn’t make it onto OpenTable’s top 100 restaurants, but if you’re looking for a spot for mom, we suggest Ocotillo. It’s got a range of options no matter what type of food you’re looking for.
San Antonio, Texas — Cappy’s Restaurant
Upscale American food and fresh Gulf Coast seafood with a full bar and an excellent wine selection.
San Diego, California — Hotel Del – Crown Room
A San Diego mainstay that’s regularly voted as the top brunch spot in the city. Enjoy fresh seafood, locally inspired dishes, and a gourmet Bloody Mary bar.
Dallas, Texas — Café 43
Contemporary American food with a locally sourced, organic, and seasonal menu.
San Jose, California — McCormick & Schmick’s
The top-rated brunch place in San Jose, even though it didn’t make it on Open Table’s 100 list. Grab a special Mother’s Day brunch and a signature Mother’s Day cocktail.
Austin, Texas — Chez Zee
An award-winning bakery inside a local ingredient restaurant? Yes, please. Take mom to Chez Zee if you’re in the Austin area.
Jacksonville, Florida — Palm Valley Fish Camp
Travel just outside of Jacksonville to Palm Valley Fish Camp and prepare for joy. The restaurant features responsibly sourced seafood and has a healthy wine list.
San Francisco, California — El Techo
An open-air restaurant in the Mission District with an amazing view to go with amazing food and craft cocktails.
