Vigna Petrussa Picolit 2016 Review

The wine region of Friuli almost went extinct during the phylloxera outbreak but was saved by passionate local winemakers. Within the region, the Picolit grape grows natively and has been used to produce sweet wines that are unique and deserve more exposure on our market. Hilde Petrussa took over the Vigna Petrussa winery from her mother in 1995 and has made an absolute gem of a wine using the grape. Impeccably balanced with subtle caramel and honey on the nose followed by a creamy and bright palate. This one's definitely a wine you need to experience for yourself.
