Valiano 'Poggio Teo' Chianti Classico DOCG 2015 Review
When done right there is just something amazing about Sangiovese in the southern zones of Classico around the town of Siena. It’s warm and dry and the phenolic maturity of the grape is gentle and maximized. With the right human hand coaxing it along the results can be magical, like this wine. This is a beautiful, mature, medium bodied, luscious wine from 100% Sangiovese showing wonderful notes of chewy baked cherry fruit and savory cured tobacco leaf wrapping around soft earth tones with the slightest hint of oak in the background keeping things interesting. The tannin has folded itself into the wine a little, yet still has a comfy angular edge. Grazie Mille Valiano en Castelnuovo Berardenga. E BUONO!
