Two Shepherds 'A Tribute to Saralee' Grenache Blanc 2019 Review

When William Allen founded Two Shepherds as a one-person winery in 2010, the project was entirely focused on Rhône varieties. Now, over a decade later, this venture grew into a vast lineup of wines made from grapes deserving of more love and attention. And the team grew too, with Karen Daenen joining in 2015, and the addition of an ever-expanding set of charming farm animals that are frequently featured on the bottles. But even as the winery has grown, this delightful expression of Grenache Blanc is a reminder of Allen's mastery of Rhône varieties. The nose is filled with waxy, floral aromas and a hint of honeyed pear. There's a nice grip on the palate with vibrant fruit and great foundational acidity. This wine is all about texture — and the texture is wonderful.
