Tumblin’ Dice Straight Rye Whiskey Finished in Laird’s Apple Brandy Barrels Review
From non-distiller producer Proof & Wood, this single barrel of classic MGP 95/5 ascends to the stratosphere with a year in apple brandy barrels from America’s oldest spirits producer. The spice of the rye blends beautifully with the orchard fruit notes of the finishing barrel, creating a sort of apple cinnamon pie palate, with a good heaping of caramel sauce drizzled on top. But this unique single barrel is hardly cloying; it’s mature, refined, and a perfect pour for the chillier days of fall.
