This Michigan release is made from a blend of 100-percent rye and straight rye whiskey (i.e. whiskey that's at least 2 years old with a minimum 51-percent rye in the mashbill). The results are somewhat expected: This is a spice bomb. The aromas lean on the sweeter side with cloves and cinnamon leading the way, while the palate showcases savory spices and serves a streak of dill pickles.
