The Dalmore 18 Year 2023 Edition
Review
Aged in both ex-bourbon barrels and Oloroso sherry casks, notes of dark caramel, brown sugar, and baked stone fruit kick off this decadent release. Nuance arrives by way of earthy complexity, and hints of leather and cigar tobacco are apparent on the nose. The palate has tannic texture, which also tones down the sweetness and sets up a crisp yet persisting finish. While the price tag may be steep, this whisky has a lot to offer.
