Sidebar Old Vine Zinfandel 2016 Review
When I think of old vine Zin, this is what I think of. There are no laws for putting “old vines” on a wine label here in the US so it could have the smallest amount of old vine juice to justify it. I feel like this is a proper, majority old vine zin, with excellent acidity promoting the spicy, savory notes of mediterranean herbs and balsamic that this grape wants to showcase. The success here is that even though the alcohol is high it is well integrated, and for a red it quenches your thirst, making you want more. It’s absolutely worth the price.
