Rodica Malvasia Selection 2019 Review

Marinko Rodica, a car mechanic by trade, started the Rodica winery in Slovenia in 1998. Now, the Rodica family organically farms 15 hectares of land, making elegant wines that celebrate traditional grape varieties.  This skin contact wine is made with the local Malvasia. It is waxy, yet creamy, with some orange notes. You will also catch light hints of cardamom and flecks of white pepper on the nose. The palate is soft with a subtle grip around the edges. Blazing acidity and balanced weight contribute to an incredibly focused finish.
