Zind Humbrecht 'Hengst' Grand Cru Gewürztraminer 2013 Review
Aromatic wines with residual sugar can send some running for the hills, but give this one a chance because it is truly special. The nose is rich, honeyed, and incredibly enticing, with orange nectar, peach candy, river rocks, and purple flowers, while the off-dry palate tastes like orange rock candy in the best possible way. Tons of spice also appears on the palate, presenting as ginger brown sugar, with some lemon tang to zip the richness together and the long finish is of toasty caramel. This wine is in for a long future of aging.
