Michael Mondavi Family ‘Emblem’ Chardonnay Sonoma Coast 2016 Review
The Mondavi family are arguably the most famous winemaking family in California. This heady Chardonnay has aromas of apple galette and spices. The flavors are both fresh and savory, with well integrated oak. The mouthfeel is a little buttery but savory. It's a rich and balanced Chardonnay, a little like a white Burgundy that’s been hitting the free weights at the gym. The buttery notes will appeal to fans of lush-style Chardonnay, and the balanced, savory qualities will appeal to fans of nuanced wines.
