Champagne Billecart-Salmon Brut Reserve NV Review
Founded in 1818, Billecart-Salmon is a mid-sized Champagne house located in the commune of Mareuil-sur-Aÿ. Their wines are well-regarded by many sommeliers, and this Brut Reserve is a distinctive Champagne with an ethereal character. The color is pale straw, with aromas including freshly sliced Anjou pears and green apples, with a hint of wildflowers and lemon zest. The texture is elegant and nuanced, but long and persistent with a fine mousse. While this Champagne is super enjoyable sipped on its own, it's also an awesome accompaniment to a variety of meals; try it with a seafood crudo. While $57 is not chump change, it's priced less than other Champagnes of similar quality.
