Pyros Single Vineyard Block No 4 Malbec 2018 Review
Coming from the Pedernal Valley in San Juan sixty or so miles north of Mendoza is this very unique style of Malbec. At 4,300 feet above sea level these vines get a ton of sun but some seriously cool nights. The result is this wonderful balance between depth and acidity. The acidity allows for some quiet but present herb-like notes lingering just below the dark berry fruit. The palate has undeniable depth that is checked by a nice dose of minerality showing a little more of that herbaceous character. This is such a wonderful wine.
