Review
Actor and Washington native Kyle MacLachlan and winemaker Daniel Wampfler met while Kyle and his father explored the backroads of the Evergreen state. A collaboration occurred as well as a story. The bear in the title of the brand is a reference to an obscure stage direction for Winter’s Night where a bear is to walk across the stage for no real reason. In their minds theater, much like winemaking, requires study, practice, skill as well as, “...equal parts process and magic.” With this Cab, this collab is working wonders. A delightfully fruit forward, savory nose meets your senses. The palate is bright and grippy while still showing depth of fruit. The tannins are still a bit ornery, but feels like they will melt away in a year or so. Really great way to show the Columbia Valley style of this famous grape.
