Patrón El Alto Tequila Reposado
Review
A new addition to Patrón's portfolio, El Alto stands out with its tall, angular, teal-blue bottle. Priced around the $200 mark, this brand new release is likely the distillery's answer to other luxury-priced and -packaged tequilas that have become popular in recent years. In our opinion, this blend of extra añejo, añejo, and reposado is the best of the bunch. Technically sold as a reposado, since that is the youngest component of the blend, it has a nearly clear appearance with a hint of Chardonnay gold. Vegetal agave notes are prominent throughout, and are accented by sweet, rounded flavors of vanilla oak.
