Montes Alpha ‘M’ 2012 Review
Proof that Chile can hold its own among the regions more famously known for Bordeaux blends, though it comes with a high price tag. It has an intense, dark-fruited, typical Cabernet Sauvignon-noted nose with a hefty dose of both vanilla and green bell pepper. The palate is more restrained – closer to a warm vintage Bordeaux than Napa Valley – with quite a bit of sweet and savory spice added in as well. An interesting selection for big Cab lovers looking to splurge on something new.
