Matteo Correggia ‘La Val dei Preti’ Roero 2013 Review

Solid, classic, restrained version of Nebbiolo. Mellow red fruit takes a backseat to hearty, nose-to-the-ground wet soil earth, along with a touch of menthol, but the palate isn’t too aggressive, with tart red currants, licorice, and herbal spice. It’s approachable enough for the everyday, but offers complexity.
