Materra Cunat Family Vineyards Amabie Late Harvest Sauvignon Blanc 2022 Review

Brian Cunat and his brother John bought 50 acres of land in the Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley in 2007 and hired an expert team to archive their dreams of making wine. They grow Merlot, Petit Verdot, Malbec, Syrah, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Viognier. But it’s the Sauvignon Blanc that shines here. Not many winemakers can coax this extremely expressive variety into a dessert style but this wine hit the nail on the head. It has classic peppery aromas that you would expect from this grape, but coated with a dollop of honey. The palate is all about texture with a viscous mouthfeel lifted by nice acidity.
