Malvirà Roero 2014 Review

Classic Nebbiolo without the Barolo price tag. Though tight and not too aromatic, the nose has all the markers of fresh Nebbiolo: high-toned, tart red cherry and cranberry, mint, iron, and a touch of florality. As might be expected, it’s fuller-bodied and more tannic than the nose lets on, but the wine is incredibly well balanced, with complexity that will become more distinct with time. It’s friendly to drink now, but it will show its true character in a few more years.
