The 2021 edition of Laphroaig's annual Càirdeas release is finished in Pedro Ximénez sherry barrels and arrives at a cask-strength 58.9 percent ABV. Pouring a deep toffee hue with ruby reflections, the nose sings with dried berry aromas. On the palate, the high-wire balancing act of peat, fruit, and alcohol is nothing short of exceptional.
