La Valentina "Spelt" Montepulciano D'Abruzzo Reserva 2015
Review
This isn’t your frat brother’s pizza wine. This is what happens when Montepulciano steps it up a notch. Held in cellar for an extra year or so, the plum fruit makes way for subtle hints of balsamic, the natural pepper spice sticks around but moves further into the earth category and the already low acidity softens just a bit. The result is a beautiful, balanced, medium bodied wine with well integrated tannins that will make you wanna bring up that pork loin recipe you been eyeing.
