Kobal Sivi Pinot 2022 Review
The Kobal winery is situated in the Haloze appellation of Slovenia, one of the oldest winemaking regions in the country dating back at least 2,000 years. The owner and winemaker Bojan Kobal works to craft wines that fully express the inherent qualities of the local grapes and the region's unique terroir. And this skin-contact Pinot Gris is a great example of that. The 36 hours of extended skin maceration lends a stunning light pink, almost cooper-like hue to the wine. The nose brings a waft of tropical fruit with flecks of white pepper. The refreshing acidity and subtle tannins make you want another sip STAT.
