Kobal 'Bajta' Belo 2021 Review
Kobal is situated in the Haloze (Halos) appellation of Slovenia, one of the oldest winemaking regions in the country dating back 2,000 years. The owner and winemaker Bojan Kobal works to make wines that fully express the inherent qualities of the grapes and the region's unique terroir. This wine is a blend of Welschriesling, Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, and Chardonnay, and when these white grapes are blended in skin-contact form, they take on a whole new personality. The nose is expressive with a kiss of candied peaches. The palate is dry and balanced with fresh apple, agave, and a waxy honey note.
