Japas Cervejaria Oishii
Review
Conceived in São Paulo, Brazil and contract-brewed in Chicago, Oishii — Japanese for "yummy," according to the brand (although "delicious" is a more traditional translation) — is a product of its mixed influences. The Belgian witbier style influence is apparent, with whole-seed coriander popping out on the nose, followed by a hint of lemongrass. Ginger tip-toes in, coming with an almost tingly, peppercorn-like cooling sensation on the tongue as opposed to spicy heat. This journey in subtlety concludes with a pithy citrus-peel finish.
