Piedmont's native Grignolino variety is sometimes referred to as "baby Nebbiolo," because, like the famed grape of Barolo, Grignolino is light in color but packs a surprising punch on the palate. This Grignolino from the small family-run Iuli winery definitely lives up to the variety's reputation, delivering bright aromatics of raspberries and rose petals on the nose, and intense structure on the palate. The juicy red fruit notes make this wine great for a slight chill, but the grippy tannins will have you reaching for your next bite of pizza.
