Elvio Cogno Montegrilli Langhe Rosso 2018 Review
Barolo can be expensive, and that’s why Langhe Nebbiolo exists, which is where this bottle comes from. It’s half the price of a Barolo but has all the power, and some of the elegance, you crave. This is the kind of wine where aroma really means something, because there is so much going on you can’t help but pull out notes of cherry wood (earthy cherry), fresh leather (think a new leather jacket), and black pepper. It is juicier and more approachable, meant to drink now, as opposed to the long aging requirements for Barolo, and damn delicious.
